Behind the Engraver:
We are always looking for new skills to teach our Team Members. When we were approached by local boutique, Flutter, offering to graciously donate blank jewelry, we were ecstatic to teach our team. After we acquired an engraving machine (thanks to our generous sponsors), we had to figure out how to use it.
 
We went to several jewelry stores to ask them to teach our Team Members how to use it. They all told us NO. “That’s too complicated for your Team Members,” they said. Telling us that we can’t do something makes us even more determined to empower our Team Members.
 
So many of them have continuously been told they have limitations, we see beyond their disabilities. Thanks to our board member, Marco Talbert, who researched and learned the system. He then taught Team Member Brock how to use the engraver. The very next day, Brock arrived at The Hope Gallery, however Marco wasn’t there. That didn’t stop him — Brock sat down and ran the engraver BY HIMSELF! Our Team Members were then able to teach one another! Months later, our new manager needed to learn the engraver. Team Member Luke taught Sadie how to use the engraver and encouraged her to try more techniques.
